The Tumble Blast Shot Blasting Machine is a high-efficiency cleaning system designed for small to medium-sized components such as castings, forgings, and heat-treated parts. Equipped with a heavy-duty endless rubber/steel belt, the machine gently tumbles the components while high-velocity abrasive streams clean
all surfaces uniformly.
It offers batch capacities from 150 Kg to 800 Kg, making it suitable for a wide range of industries. The machine ensures uniform cleaning, high productivity, andlow operating cost with features like automatic abrasive recycling and dustcollection.
Optional add-ons such as Automatic Loading/Unloading, VFD controls, and PLC-based HMI panels further enhance automation, efficiency, and process flexibility.
Tumbler Type Shot Blasting Machine:Available Capacities: 20X27 (150Kg), 24X29 (300Kg), 27X36 (500Kg).
How the Tumble Blast Machine Works?
1. Loading Components are loaded into the endless rubber/steel conveyor belt chamber.
○ Small components: loaded directly.
○ Large/heavy components: loaded using a mechanical loader (optional).
2.Tumbling Action
○ The belt starts rotating slowly, creating a continuous tumbling effect.
○ This exposes every surface of the component to the abrasive stream.
3.Shot Blasting Process
○ High-performance blast wheels project abrasive media (steel shots/grits) at high
velocity.
○ The media strikes the surface, removing sand, scale, rust, heat treatment residues,
or burrs.
○ Components are cleaned thoroughly in a short cycle time.
4. Separation & Recycling
○ Used abrasives fall through the perforated belt.
○ A separation system (bucket elevator, magnetic separator, air wash cleaner)
removes dust, scale, and fines.
○ Clean abrasives are automatically recycled back into the blast wheels.
5. Dust Collection
○ A pulse-jet dust collector extracts dust, fines, and scale from the airflow.
○ Ensures a clean working environment and complies with pollution norms.
6. Unloading
○ After the blasting cycle, the belt runs in reverse.
○ Cleaned components are gently discharged into a trolley or bin.
Key Advantages of Tumble Blast Machines.
✅ Uniform Cleaning – Tumbling action ensures all surfaces are blasted.
✅ High Productivity – Multiple parts cleaned in a single batch.
✅ Versatile – Handles castings, forgings, auto components, fasteners, and heat-treated parts.
✅ Low Maintenance – Simple construction, robust design.
✅ Cost Effective – Automated abrasive recycling reduces operating cost.
✅ Environment Friendly – Equipped with efficient dust collection.
Add-On Features (Optional)
1. Automatic Loading & Unloading System
○ Hydraulic or mechanical loaders can be integrated for handling heavy components.
○ Automatic reverse discharge system allows finished components to be unloaded directly into bins or trolleys.
○ Reduces manual effort and cycle time, increasing productivity.
2. Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) for Belt & Blast Wheel
○ Allows adjustment of tumbling speed and blast wheel speed as per component type.
○ Ensures optimum cleaning quality for delicate as well as heavy-duty parts.
○ Provides better energy efficiency and control over the blasting process.
3. PLC-Based Control Panel with HMI Display
○ Advanced control system for recipe-based operations.
○ Operators can set blasting time, wheel speed, and belt speed through a user-friendly HMI screen.
○ Includes fault diagnostics, production data logging, and process monitoring.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF TUMBLER TYPE SHOT BLASTING MACHINE
The blast chamber of the Tumble Type Shot Blasting Machine is designed with a heavy-duty endless rubber/steel belt conveyor that forms the tumbling basket for components. The chamber is suitably lined with wear-resistant liners to withstand continuous blasting and ensure long service life. During operation, components are loaded into the blasting chamber either manually or with a mechanical loader. The
tumbling action of the belt gently rotates and mixes the components, exposing all surfaces uniformly to the high-velocity abrasive stream projected by the blast wheels.
The entire process is carried out in a fully enclosed and sealed chamber to prevent the escape of abrasive, dust, or noise into the working environment. After completion of the blasting cycle, the belt reverses automatically to discharge the cleaned components into a collection bin or trolley.
